We went based on photos and videos that we saw and how beautiful the water is. But what we saw was when people went on sunny days which gives the water a brilliant color reflecting back. But when we went it was cloudy so we did not end up seeing hat everyone has been sharing online. However, the beach itself is still awesome - the white sand just hits different. And in one area the water that was along the shoreline was a dark reddish almost rust color which I found interesting. I figure it’s maybe from the minerals and how it reacts with the salt water but it was cool looking! The beach is super clean which is really nice.
Gorgeous soft, white sand beach. Very clean, plenty of space. One of the nicest beaches I’ve seen in Canada
This beach is a quiet beach. The waves are low and the depth of the water is not deep, so even small children can play. The temperature of the water is not low, so it is good for playing in the water. I recommend you to bring a tent or parasol because there are no trees around. Have a nice trip~
Gorgeous beach with beautiful sand and water. The beach itself was clean & when we went we meet a variety of people from families wanting to sit & chat to others who had started spike ball games and encouraged others to join in. It was a perfect beach to relax & socialize. The water is freezing but makes the sun tanning feel well deserved. Parking is limited so you have to park along the road which some neighbours seemed to be annoyed about but others were friendly.
What a beautiful place! Don’t be afraid to cross the water to walk down to the end. Well worth it!
These photos do not do this beach justice. Typically Carribean style beach. Clear waters, sunny days.
Water is exceptionally cold. It's a beach for relaxation and views.
Beautiful beach!!! Parking is limited, but I’d you go early it isn’t a problem. We went because of all the pictures of the beautiful blue green waters but in a cloudy foggy morning the ocean is a little less colourful then expected. But exploring and beaches and relaxing on the white sand was worth it! Such a wonderful place to spend time.
This beach is close to two hours way from Halifax if you choose to drive along the coast line as we did. The drive is almost all single lane highway.
The beach has a small area for parking. Get there early (before 10 am) and you shouldn’t have a problem. The beach starts to get busy closer to noon.
They do have two porta potty’s there but no changing room or wash stations.
There are two paths leading you to the beach. One path is a on a 45 degree angle. Not too safe for kids. But it is the quickest route to the white sand.
The second path is near the porta potty. The path is safer for kids. The kayakers use it to take kayaks to the beach.
The only complaint about this beach is the horse flies. They do bite and it doesn’t tickle.
The sand is white and the water is shallow clear and calm. It reminded us of being on vacation in the Caribbean.
The water is frigid. Almost comparable to a polar bear dip. The pain of the freezing waters go deep to the bones. We loved it!
